The 25-year-old struggled for playing time under Pep Guardiola but is now undergoing a medical with the Bavarians’ Bundesliga rivals ahead of a switch to Signal Iduna Park

Borussia Dortmund are closing in on the signing of Bayern Munich midfielder Sebastian Rode.

The 25-year-old is undergoing a medical with Dortmund on Monday ahead of a move that will reportedly cost in the region of €10 million to €15m.

Rode is viewed as the replacement for Ilkay Gundogan, who completed his move to Manchester City last week.

Rode joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2014 but failed to secure a regular role under Pep Guardiola.

Rode made just 17 appearances and played only 399 minutes of football in the Bundesliga this season.
