Hungary won their first match in a European Championship since 1972 with a surprise 2-0 victory against 10-man Austria.

A first international goal for Adam Szalai since December 2014 and Zoltan Stieber’s late strike means Hungary claimed all three points in Tuesday’s Euro 2016 Group F clash in Bordeaux.

Austria started the game the brighter side, but Szalai was the man to break the deadlock in the 62nd minute after some wonderful combination play with Laszlo Kleinheisler.

Aleksandar Dragovic was sent off in the 66th minute after two yellow cards, and with Austria’s defence stretched, Stieber was able to score a cool chip in the 87th minute.
