Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Portugal drew 3-3 with Hungary to qualify for the knockout stages.

Zoltan Gera shocked Portugal in the early stages of the game when his crisp volley from outside the box drilled into the far corner. It seemed as if Portugal would endure another frustrating game until Cristiano Ronaldo set up Luis Nani for the equaliser just before half time.

In the second half, Hungary went ahead after 47 seconds of the restart through Balazs Dzsudzsak, only for Ronaldo to get his first of the tournament to level the scores and become the first player to score in four European Championships.

Dzsudzsak hit back two minutes later to put Hungary back in charge, but Ronaldo headed in another equaliser.

Portugal go through as the third-placed side with three points, Hungary top the group with five, and Iceland are in second with five points and a worse goal difference. Iceland will play England in their next match.
