Tournament debutants Iceland have sealed their place in the last 16 of Euro 2016 after a stoppage time winner to defeat Austria 2-1 in Paris.

The Scandinavians were the brighter side in the early stages, despite only needing a point to qualify, and took the lead through Jón Daði Bodvarsson’s strike.

This sparked Marcel Koller‘s side into action but they missed a glorious opportunity after being awarded a penalty with Aleksandar Dragovic hitting the post with his spot kick.

Austria, who needed to win to qualify, made a double change at the break and equalised through a brilliant solo effort from Alessandro Schöpf.

But Lars Lagerback’s men snatched victory to secure third spot in Group F with the last kick of the game through substitute Arnór Traustason to set up a clash with England on Monday.
