Giorgio Chiellini and Graziano Pelle both scored as Italy beat Spain to reach the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.

The defender struck in the 33rd minute after David De Gea could only half keep out Eder’s free-kick before Pelle ended the contest in the 90th minute.

Manchester United‘s De Gea was in outstanding form and the result would have been far worse if it had not been for a string of saves he made.

The result means Italy will now face Germany in the last eight after their 3-0 win over Slovakia.
