The Brazilian joined the Bavarian side last year, making 43 appearances in all competitions, but fans jumped to conclusions about a dramatic departure after the image surfaced
Douglas Costa caused panic amongst Bayern Munich fans on Saturday, after a post on his official Instagram account seemed to suggest a move to Juventus was on the cards.
Costa was in Melbourne for an exhibition futsal match where he played for local club Pascoe Vale against Fitzroy, who featured futsal legend Falcao.
The Brazil international posted a couple of photos of himself on Instagram wearing Pascoe Vale gear.
Pascoe Vale’s crest is very similar to that of Juventus, which prompted some fans to excitedly speculate about a transfer to the Serie A champions.
Costa’s immediate future, however, will see him remain in Bavaria, although the 25-year-old was clearly taken with Melbourne and indicated he would be interested in playing in Australia’s A-League later in his career.
The Bayern attacker’s personal trainer and childhood friend is married to an Australian from Melbourne.
“I would love to come here one day and play here,” Costa told Goal. “It’s something new for me and there is the possibility of me coming here one day.”
