After reports earlier suggesting that Jose Mourinho is eyeing up Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante, it now appears as Manchester United are now a sensationally preparing a £79 million bid for Paris St-Germain’s Marco Verratti.
The ongoing saga over Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s transfer to United continues to rumble on though there could be a ripple effect, as it’s believed that the Swede is keen on the midfielder reuniting with him in the Premier League.
The Italian joined the French side from Pescara for a fee of £9.5 million before making his name in Ligue 1 where he’s been pivotal in helping PSG win the league in four consecutive years. He’s now attracting interest from Mourinho who wants him at the club as part of his summer overhaul, according to Corriere Dello Sport.
Are the French champions already eyeing up his replacement?
The ‘Reds’ are ready to offer Verratti £6.7 million a season wage in order to lure him to Old Trafford. The 23-year-old has amassed over 100 appearances for PSG.
